Grand Isle

Town Website Offline

By Rachael Griggs, Grand Isle Selectboard
The Town of Grand Isle’s website is currently offline. You can still open the site by searching “Town of Grand Isle VT” and typing the department name in the search box at the top right.
Meeting dates and times are listed under each department or committee name. Updates have not been posted in over a week, as town employees cannot access the site to post information. We are working to repair the problem and hope to have the site fixed and back online as soon as possible.

Grand Isle was originally named "Middle Hero" when it was subdivided from the town of South Hero in November 1798.  The town was renamed In November 1810.

What Our Clients Are Saying

To the Editor,
I have just finished reading (online) this week’s edition of the paper.  I really enjoyed your article and I’m so happy to see you are now able to expand staff and reporting.
The Islander is such an important part of Grand Isle County and beyond.
The North Hero I grew up in is very different today and yet very much the same. There might be bigger houses and more emphasis on tourism, but in the end it’s all about community. I have read The Islander since the very first issue.
The border remains closed and I am not able to visit my beloved home town, but reading The Islander every week has kept me connected for all these months.  I long for the day I can cross the Rouses Point Bridge and see the sign “Entering Vermont” and then over the bridge from Alburgh and finally see that sign that says “Welcome to North Hero”….Home!
