WATER LINE FLUSHING By Les Gardner, Plant Operator Grand Isle Fire District #4 Water District will be flushing the water lines and turning the valves Oct. 21 through Oct. 25. If you experience dirty water turn your outside hose on and run until clear.
To the Editor, I have just finished reading (online) this week’s edition of the paper. I really enjoyed your article and I’m so happy to see you are now able to expand staff and reporting. The Islander is such an important part of Grand Isle County and beyond. The North Hero I grew up in is very different today and yet very much the same. There might be bigger houses and more emphasis on tourism, but in the end it’s all about community. I have read The Islander since the very first issue. The border remains closed and I am not able to visit my beloved home town, but reading The Islander every week has kept me connected for all these months. I long for the day I can cross the Rouses Point Bridge and see the sign “Entering Vermont” and then over the bridge from Alburgh and finally see that sign that says “Welcome to North Hero”….Home!
