Join the Isle La Motte Community Organization as they come together to plan and bring to life dynamic events, exciting activities, and inspiring community projects. Let's make this year unforgettable! The Isle La Motte Community Organization's Spring meeting is Saturday, April 5 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the ILM Town Offices. Spring and summer agenda items include Green-Up Day, Island Entrance enhancements, Town-Wide Yard Sale, Music in the Park and more. Coffee and breakfast bites will be served. All are welcome. Please join the Recreation Department on Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. for an illuminating discussion about the history and technology of lighthouses from Rob Clark, owner of two 19th-century Lake Champlain lighthouses. The class is suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult. A light lunch and warm beverages will be served during the event, which will be held at the Town Office Community Room located at 42 School Street Extension in Isle La Motte. Join your friends and neighbors for a bite before Town Meeting! Isle La Motte Community Organization (ILMCO) is sponsoring complimentary coffee and breakfast from 8:15 to 9 a.m. before the start of the Informational Town Meeting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 1 at the ILM Town Offices, 42 School Street Extension. Coffee and tea will be available at 8:15 a.m., with breakfast starting at 8:30 a.m. There will be tables and chairs set up by the kitchen for you to enjoy your food. The menu includes cinnamon coffee cake (GF), ham, egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches, crustless quiche (vegetarian and meat options) as well as assorted pastries and breads. By Beth Meese, ILMCO
The Isle La Motte Community Organization (ILMCO) is honored to host the Second Annual Isle La Motte Christmas Tree Lighting, Holiday Hayrides, and Community Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 7. Events run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., stop by anytime. Join the ILMCO at the ILM Community Building for a free, fun and festive evening. Holiday hay rides begin at 3 p.m. (please dress for the weather, hay bales will be blanketed for seating). At 4 p.m. sugar cookie decorating/community mingle will begin followed by a community meal with hot dogs, chili dogs, hot chocolate and apple cider at 5 p.m. The tree lighting will occur at 6 p.m. with Linda Fitch, 2024 Isle La Motter of the Year at Veterans Park (meet at the tree directly across from the Town Hall driveway, before the 6 p.m. lighting). Weather permitting, the workshop will conclude with stargazing and laser tour of the evening sky! Please bring large binoculars, if possible. The Isle LaMotte Community Organization (ILMCO) hosted Alburgh children's book author Nicole Latimer and her son Rennon at the Recreational Park last Saturday. Latimer’s book is based off of her son's transition into kindergarten as a non-verbal autistic child. Her mission is to bring awareness to the autistic community one reader at a time.She read her book and answered questions from those in attendance. Latimer read the book to the audience and signed 20 books for area children, parents/grandparents, and local libraries. The free books were sponsored by the Isle La Motte Masonic Lodge. ISLE LA MOTTE – Isle La Motte Community Organization (ILMCO) will host local author and Alburgh resident, Nicole Latimer at the Isle La Motte Veterans Park this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Latimer is the author of “Need a Friend?” She will introduce you to her sone Rennon and discuss why she wrote the book. Latimer will also read it to the audience. ILMCO and the Isle La Masonic Lodge are the event sponsors and will offer the first 30 families one book for free. Latimer will be available to sign copies of the book. Bring a chair or a blanket to enjoy the reading. If you know or have a child who is considered on the spectrum and want to better understand how to communicate with kids like Rennon, this event and book will be a great learning experience for your entire family.
